Making a NAN

At the end of September the Scout Association made some minor tweaks to the Nights Away Notification process. The changes were really about the relevant information provided.

The main change you will notice is that you will have to list all Adults that are attending overnight.

The primary way of making a nights away notification is via the District Online form if you could make every effort to use it. the form can be found here

Watching a new sport

Warrington East Scouts have been invited to go along to an Ice-Hockey game with Manchester Storm (who are based in Altrincham) at greatly discounted rates!

The attached flyer gives the information for Scout Groups along with the fixtures. The ticket prices are much reduced compared to the standard prices with complimentary tickets for leaders who are looking to book groups of tickets.

Manchester Storm also carry out many activities within the community.  Team members can be booked to carry out talks to groups and learn about the game, get to try some of the equipment and watch some videos.  Most of the pro players originate from North America and have good communications skills with young people.  This is something which can be booked with Liam.

Ice-Hockey fans, including away fans, all get on well making it a family friendly sport to watch.

There’s a YouTube clip from a couple of seasons ago which is from the Manchester Storm TV YouTube channel where all game highlights are posted.

In line with the flyer, all enquires will need to be sent to Liam Hesketh (details below), as he will take care of the group bookings for the Scout groups rather than the normal Manchester Storm box office.
