St George's Day Service

The Joint District St George’s Day Service will be taking place on the 22nd April at St Elphin’s Parish Church in Warrington. All groups are expected to attend to renew their promise as Scouts of Warrington.

The Service will be starting in the Church at 2.00pm and groups will be assemble on the lawn outside the church from 1.30pm with colour parties for their Section Flags. The organising team are in the process of agreeing parking arrangements at locations around the area that will be a short walk away from the Church for Parents to drop off and Pick up. There won’t be a parade from the Town hall this year as part of the service while both Districts conclude the consultation held on the future of the event.

County AGM

Just to give you the heads up, this year it is Warrington Easts turn to host the Cheshire Scouts Annual General Meeting.
This will be held on the 12th June at the Lance Dobson Hall at the Padgate Campus of Chester University on Crab Lane.

Details will of course be sent out by Cheshire Scouts but if you could save the date in your Diary and consider turning up to represent our District that would be great

District Beaver Scout Challenge

Back on the 10th February, the District held the annual Beaver Scout Challenge. Colonies took part from all over the District, making smoars, transferring balls using pipes, cross bow archery and newspaper caterpillars. All of them competing for the coveted Challenge Trophy.

Well done to the eventual winners from the 9th Warrington East (Gorse Covert) who lifted the Trophy and good luck to them in the County Beaver Scout Challenge on the 17th March. Thank you to the 26th Warrington East (Padgate) for hosting the event.

District Cub Scout Craft Competition

Also on the 10th February, efficiency being the key here of course, there was a fantastic turnout of creative Cubs from around the District for the District Cub Scouts Annual Art & Craft competition. The teams had to take their creative skills to the max for the event and unfortunately there could only be one team that could win and go to represent the District at County event on the 24th March. Our congratulations go to 12th Warrington East (1stBirchwood) who were the winning team. Thank you to the 22nd Warrington East (1st Hollins Green) for hosting the event.
